Haikou City has become one of the sailing cities in China and a hot spot for holding domestic sailing and windsurfing events due to the excellent geographic location and pleasant climate in its West Coast. Public dock of Haikou National Sailing Base is also a designated winter training base for the national sailing and windsurfing team.
