Near the backdoor of Hainan Normal University, there is a Casserole Malatang restaurant (‘Malatang’ literally means ‘numbing hot’ in Chinese) that is quite popular among students. They often visit this small restaurant after school. Fresh ingredients with assorted side dishes boiled in the casserole gives off an appealing smell. It’s said that the students would often think of it even after graduation.
