Prosperity Archways
Qiongshan District, as an important agricultural area in ancient Qiongzhou Prefecture, possesses abundant agricultural resources and carries a long-standing agricultural heritage. In ancient times, agriculture was the foundation of the Chinese people’s lives, and people prayed for favorable weather and a bountiful harvest. It was a common tradition to worship the gods of the land and crops. After thousands of years of historical evolution, this tradition can still be seen in the cultural relics of north Hainan regions, such as the Prosperity Altar in the Changliu area of Haikou, and the Prosperity Archways scattered throughout the countryside of Longtang Town in Qiongshan.
