As one of Haikou’s landmarks, the Century Bridge crosses the Haidian River. The project of the bridge started on May 29, 1998 and was opened to traffic on August 1, 2003, which lasted 5 years and spanned two centuries, hence the name "Century Bridge". Its magnificent shape also makes it an important tourist attraction in Haikou. When the sun sets, the Century Bridge against the rosy clouds appears very splendid.
