Every year, Hainan hosts China's International Tropical Agricultural Products Winter Fair, a one-of-a-kind occasion that attracts lots of global interest.

Known simply as the "Winter Fair," this trade fair, which has already been held more than 20 times, is the only exhibition of tropical agricultural products in China oriented to investment and promotion, providing a stage for a range of forum discussions about future challenges and opportunities in the sector.

In 2020, in the capital city of Haikou, the event focused on key industries fostering “green advancement, open integration and rural revitalisation.”

Attracting nearly 2000 companies and more than 5000 exhibitors from 21 provinces in China, the event was made up of 10 outstanding exhibition halls such as the "Belt and Road" hall, the National Famous and Excellent Agricultural Products hall, the "Well-off life hall" and the"Hainan-Taiwan trade hall", with a total area of more than 100,00 square-metres. At the same time, it attracted more than 100 foreign companies from more than 20 countries and regions, highlighting the increasing strategic importance of this island well beyond it borders.

Inside, visitors were welcomed by a broad display of tropical fruits and vegetables, aquatic products, red wine and also tea, coffee and other local specialty good. All amid a wide range of interactive games, shows, singing and dancing performances to keep everyone amused and entertained.
