Haikou's Sky Mountain Public Service Station is now one of the new landmarks in the capital city of Hainan Province. When Sou Fujimoto designed it, his stated intention was for the architecture and the ocean to form a harmonious landscape where people and nature could interact. The exterior of the building has a gentle valley-like roof slope which serves as a link that connects the city and the sea. People can walk along the undulating roof and enjoy the coastal scenery.
